Introduction to agent definition templates
What are agent templates?
Agent templates are configured agent definitions that can share their definition file with multiple agents. Using an agent template allows a user to define an agent structure, save it as a template, associate agent(s) to use the template with optional template variables, and edit the agent template to apply changes to all associated agents. This enhances efficiency by centralizing configurations and reducing redundancy.
When should I use them?
If you have the need to create multiple copies of agents to run them with different parameters, scheduling, input lists etc. By providing a foundational structure, agent templates minimize the time needed to configure an agent from scratch, especially for users with repetitive or standard scraping needs.
How do agent templates differ from agent groups?
Agent groups help to manage harvesting settings, schedules, notifications, publishing, ... for different agent definitions; Agent templates share the same agent definition with optional template variables. Agent groups and agent templates can be used independently.
